Auxiliary provided by a well maintained Yanmar 3GM30 fresh water cooled marine diesel. Quality equipment includes the renowned Cape Horn wind vane, Fourwinds III wind generator, solar panels, Pur 35 desalinator, electric Muir anchor winch, and the list goes on. First launched in 2000, then refit completed over the following two years.

"Persian Lady" is a 12 metre catamaran of Roger Simpson design. She was built in England by East Point Catamaran to an approved surveyed standard of finish. Launched in 1993 she cruised the UK North Sea until 1998 when she commenced her world cruise. Since leaving the UK she has extensively and safely crossed the Atlantic the Pacific and cruised throughout the Caribbean.
Since 2000 she has made a number of seasonal passages between New Zealand and the islands of Tonga, Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu and the Wallis group. In 2005 she cruised Australia and then passaged
through Indonesia to Langkawi, Malaysia where she is now based.
Thus, she is a proven safe offshore blue water vessel; a comfortable home for the discerning cruiser. In 2000 she was modified to extend the hulls by 0.75 metres in the stern to enhance the profile and improve performance and it also created an ideal bathing platform.

• Complete replacement of the teak decks (circa 43 square meters), using best quality 24mm Burmese teak and full depth seams.
• A total professional re-paint to hull , topsides, coach roof and all superstructures, both masts, booms, poles and spreaders. International Professional Plus paint.
• Renewal of all ports, deadlights and hatches throughout.
• Renewal of the complete cap-rail in Burmese teak and including new purpose made 316 SS fairleads, scuppers and bollards.
This yacht is almost certainly now the finest Southern Ocean still afloat and in many respects in better than new condition. Many, many improvements and modifications have been incorporated during the refit and based directly on the owners’ first-hand experiences in 20,000 miles of sailing this fine yacht. |
